Introduction

The Deal, Dover, Sandwich and District branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) is proud to announce the 25th White Cliffs Festival of Winter Ales, a festival the branch has hosted since 1994.

This year we'll be serving a range of some 70 real ales none less than 5% ABV, of which over 35 are from Kent breweries and the rest are from mostly small independents and micro-breweries. We'll also have an extended range of real ciders available.

The Beer of the Festival is awarded to the first empty firkin of the event.

The Venue

This is the 25th year our Festival of Winter Ales has been held in Dover's Town Hall, the oldest and most historic venue for a beer festival in the country. With its superb stained glass windows, collection of arms and official portraits of the Lords Warden of the Cirque (pronounced ’sink’, not ’sank’) Ports it makes for a unique location for a beer festival.

Volunteering

Our Beer Festival is run and staffed by unpaid volunteers and we are always on the lookout for staff to help setup and run the festival.

But don't think that you have to work behind a bar - there are plenty of other jobs to be done:

You don't have to give up a whole day or a whole evening. Just tell us when you think you can help and what you think you can do.

So, if you can help in any way, then please email us at beer.festival@camra-dds.org.uk

Note: Please bring your CAMRA membership card with you, when you register to work at the beer festival. If you do not, you may not be allowed to help.

Please note that it is our intention to hold an event shortly after the festival to thank the volunteers for their help and assistance.
